About us

New York’s loudest paper

The Daily Bugle has been printed in New York since a date our archivist refuses to confirm. We cover crime, money, celebrities and the city, and we have a long-standing editorial position on masked vigilantes, which is that they are a menace and that somebody ought to do something.

Our publisher writes most of our front-page headlines himself, usually in capital letters, usually before breakfast. Our reporters then spend the rest of the day finding out whether they are true. Often they are. The rest we correct on page 38.

This paper is fiction

The Daily Bugle you are reading is a demo publication. The city is real, the subway is real, but every story, person, company, price and quote on this site is invented. Nobody caught a window washer at Citi Field. The Canal Street pothole does not have a fan club, as far as we know. If something here resembles a real person or business, it is an accident and we are sorry, unless they deserve it.

The site exists to show publishers and advertisers how Contimo sponsored Teasers and Advertorials look inside a real editorial design. Everything that is paid for is marked. See below.

Some stories on The Daily Bugle are paid for by advertisers. We call them sponsored content, and we promise three things:

If a sponsored story is ever unclear about what it is, tell us. We pay for tips about that, too.

Contact the newsroom

The newsroom is on the 14th floor of the Bugle Building in Midtown. We are open 24 hours a day because the city is, and because the wall-crawler keeps odd hours. Editorial complaints go to the managing editor. Complaints about the publisher go to the publisher, who will shout them back at you.

If we print it, we pay for it

Seen something? Photographed something? A masked figure on a water tower, a bank alarm that will not stop, a duck in a $1.2 million pond? Our tip line is open around the clock. Photos of a certain web-slinger pay double, triple if he is doing something incriminating, which he always is.
